Southlake’s food-loving paradise, Central Market, is pulling out all the stops - and champagne stoppers - in celebration of the chain’s 30th anniversary, lovingly titled “Let’s Renew Our WOWs.”
The celebration kicked off last week with an impressive start, as the flagship location in Austin made a Guinness World Record for the world's largest charcuterie board, comprised of 1,000 pounds of meats, cheeses, fruits, nuts, olives and other goodies.
While the Southlake location doesn’t have a half-ton charcuterie board, it definitely makes up for that with not-to-be-missed events throughout the two-week celebration. Some upcoming standouts include a 30th Anniversary Future Foodies Kids’ Stroll, a Caviar & Champagne Tasting Course and a Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese Wheel Cracking, not to mention tasting booths for sumptuous treats set up throughout the store.
There are also a number of limited-time goodies that you won’t want to miss, like almost-too-pretty-to-eat chocolate caramel petit mirror cakes, handmade using imported Valrhona French chocolate, Wester Ross Genesis salmon, a rare treat celebrated by salmon experts, and chef-prepared meals made in collaboration with iconic Texas chefs like Tiffany Derry, Alex Snodgrass, Ryan Pera and Chris Shepherd.
The high-end sibling in the H-E-B family, Central Market opened its first location on North Lamar Street in Austin in 1994, with the Southlake location making its debut in 2006. In the years since, it has built a reputation as the go-to for food lovers and wine aficionados across Texas.
The foodie celebration, happening at all Central Market locations across the state, continues through Sept. 24.
