Dakota's Steakhouse is officially coming to Southlake.
City Council unanimously approved a zoning change at its January meeting that will bring the Dallas-based steakhouse known for serving delicious steaks since 1984 to the area in late 2025 or early 2026, according to city officials. The restaurant will anchor a new six acre mixed-use development located at S.H. 114 and Kirkwood.
Southlake Mayor Shawn McCaskill said on his Facebook page that the restaurant will be across the street from Varispace, cover 8,955 square feet and seat 248 people. There will also be outdoor seating.
This is the second time a Dakota's was proposed to council. The restaurant made the council agenda back in March of 2024, but plans fell through and the proposal was removed from future meetings. This time, the restaurant was approved 7-0 by council members.
