Located in the heart of Dallas, the Village is an upscale apartment neighborhood that offers the ultimate staycation experience in Northeast Dallas. With 10 dining destinations located inside the complex, you’ll find that the Village also provides plenty of options perfect for date night. Here are a few places to check out if you and your significant other want to experience a different side of Dallas.
One of the newest restaurants to open in the Village, Anise is a laid-back Mediterranean wine bar that is perfect for some drinks and small bites to get your night started. Named after the seeds that give Italian and Levantine dishes their gentle licorice flavor, Anise offers a variety of fresh and delicious delights that go easy on your stomach. Its whole-roasted cauliflower is complemented by tahini sauce, toasted pine nuts and Aleppo pepper while its crispy octopus is decorated with pimenton aioli, marinated gigantic beans and pickled celery. And if dipping house-made pita bread into its smoked eggplant dip doesn’t sound appetizing to you, you might want to check your pulse.
The newest offering at the Village, La Mina is a hidden gem that offers a variety of authentic regional Mexican cuisine that will satisfy your taste buds. Translating to “mine” in Spanish, La Mina offers a myriad of exotic and flavorful dishes such as the Coctél de Camarones, poached shrimp with mezcal, cucumber, radish and avocado, or the Tlayuda de Barbacoa, which is Norteño-style braised beef with a side of refried beans and house-made heirloom corn tlayuda. The Puerco con Chile is a fan-favorite Chile-braised pork shoulder with mayocoba and rosado beans. And with an extensive cocktail lineup made with Blanco and Reposado tequila, you’ll leave La Mina feeling equally refreshed and satisfied.
A modern-day convenience store that offers snacks and goodies on the go, MOGO Market provides several sweet treats perfect to wrap up your night at the Village. Its signature soda fountain pours several sugary beverages, whether it’s root beer or orange soda, and its drinks can be poured into a glass with a scoop of ice cream for a flavorful soda float. Its scoops can also be crushed in between two cookies for an ice cream Sammy or mixed together for a soft malt or shake. If you want something a little more old-fashioned, its banana split and sweet cream sundae provide classic flavors that will make you fall in love with the Village all over again.
