Southlake’s newest bar is small, hidden and open only 15 hours a week — but that’s exactly the point.
Social Outlaw, the reservation-only speakeasy inside The Elmore Hotel, is part of a fresh redesign for people who prefer a relaxed, low-key vibe over a packed bar scene.
Step inside and the shift is instant. While The Elmore is bright and stylish, Social Outlaw turns the lights down and the mood up. Think warm, amber lighting; soft leather chairs; dark wood details; textured walls; and vintage-leaning art that hints at speakeasy culture without being over the top. It’s cozy, comfortable and built for actual conversation — not shouting over music.
That balance of refinement and attitude extends as you should expect, to the cocktail list. Guests who lean whiskey will find Saints & Sinners, a smooth mix of Angel’s Envy bourbon, demerara and cherry juice mirrors the lounge’s sweet-but-serious vibe. Tequila lovers can choose Ring of Fire, which brings together Lalo tequila, Ancho Reyes and chamoy for a gentle kick. Fruit-forward favorites like Silk and Sin offer a lighter touch with Flor de Caña rum, strawberries and whipped garnish, while Midnight Reward blends Woodford bourbon with blackberries and Aperol for something rich and refreshing. For the adventurous, Flight Risk is four pours of house-infused liquors.
Late night cravings extend to a few lighter bites to snack on, like : brisket tostadas, spicy tuna sushi, lobster corn elote, and a charcuterie and cheese board. Basically, the perfect side dishes to a delicious drink or two.
Indeed, Social Outlaw aims to be Southlake’s new go-to for after-dinner drinks, date-night wind-downs or those “we’re not ready to go home yet” evenings. The seating is arranged to feel private but not isolated, and the service keeps things unhurried in the best way.
Open Thursday through Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m., and only accessible with a reservation through the front desk, Social Outlaw gives The Elmore a laid-back, hidden hangout that feels special without trying too hard — the kind of place locals will quickly claim as their own.
