From Sept. 10–23, Central Market Southlake is bringing back Passport Germany, turning two weeks of grocery shopping into a tour of German food, drink, and culture.
Think pretzels, sausages, German beer and wine, plus chef-made, hard-to-pronounce favorites like schnitzel and käsespätzle. And because groceries alone aren’t festive enough, the Southlake store has also loaded the calendar with tastings and live music.
Things kick off at 9 a.m. Sept. 10, followed that evening by Germany Uncorked, a wine tasting focused on the country’s dry, expressive pours. Beer gets its turn Sept. 17 with German Beer: Beyond Oktoberfest.
Sept. 12 may be the most entertaining day of the bunch, with German accordion music, a traditional marionette show, and the sold-out Kinderfeast Kids’ Stroll. On Sept. 18, Greg Klugiewicz returns with another round of accordion music during the Oktoberfeast Tasting Event, followed the next night by polka-rock band The Dogensteins.
Lederhosen optional.
