Girl Scout Cookie season is about to get a sweet new twist.
Beginning January 2026, fans nationwide can indulge in "Exploremores," a rocky road ice cream–inspired sandwich cookie joining the lineup alongside icons like Thin Mints, Samoas and Tagalongs.
The new treat layers together chocolate, marshmallow and toasted almond–flavored crème, all packed between two crisp chocolate wafers.
“Taking after the classic chocolate treat, the cookie captures the limitless spirit of exploration that drives Girl Scouts,” said Girl Scouts of the USA in a Sept. 9 news release.
Exploremores isn’t the only big cookie news. GSUSA confirmed that "Toast-Yay!" and "Girl Scout S’mores" will be retired at the end of the 2025 season. That means this year is the last chance to grab the French toast–flavored favorite or the campfire classic before they’re gone for good. Consider it the perfect excuse to stockpile a box or two alongside your Samoas.
Girl Scout Cookie season runs nationally from January through April 2026, though local timing can vary. Exploremores will be available online and at cookie booths everywhere, ready to claim a spot in your annual cookie haul.
Here are five more reasons why you should buy Girl Scout Cookies:
1. Empower Future Leaders
Each box fuels Girl Scouts’ adventures — from camping trips to community projects — so you’re basically buying a scholarship for awesomeness.
2. Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth
Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs… cookies this good only come around once a year. Your taste buds will thank you.
3. Build Mini-Moguls
Every cookie sale teaches girls real-world skills: goal-setting, money smarts and confidence. Who knew cookie-buying was so educational?
4. Spread Happiness, One Bite at a Time
Office treats, neighbor gifts, or midnight snacks—cookies make everyone’s day a little brighter (and sweeter).
5. Keep the Tradition Alive
Cookie season = nostalgia season. Keep this American ritual going strong and make your inner kid do a happy dance.
