Breakfast and coffee fanatics can rejoice! There is a new homey eatery that opened up in Grapevine. Brew & Batter, located at 106 E. Texas St., opened its doors on May 6, ready to bring coffee drinks and sweet and savory waffles to locals.
“We wanted something super hearty that would help fill you up but still be good with coffee,” owner Ashton Dierolf says.
Ashton says that she always enjoyed the energy and friendliness of coffee shops, so she felt inspired to work for herself and open one of her own. She came up with the concept last year, and has been hard at work to bring her vision to life. After growing up in the Grapevine area, she knew opening up shop in downtown would help bring in both neighboring families as well as tourists.
Brew & Batter currently has a limited menu, which features three different waffle options: the PB + J, a liege waffle served with housemade strawberry jam and all-natural peanut butter that’s topped with powdered sugar; the Churro, a liege waffle covered in cinnamon sugar and drizzled with cream; and the Guerda, a cornbread waffle with melted cheese and topped with housemade lime crema. For those who want a bite of each, Brew & Batter offers a trio flight.
By sourcing roasted beans from White Rock Coffee, Brew & Batter ensures its customers can enjoy a quality cup of joe. Whether you enjoy classic espresso drinks or want something new, like its current specialty drink — a coconut honey latte with local honey.
Brew & Batter is looking to expand its menu in the coming weeks to feature more waffle options. Potential flavors include a smores waffle and a pineapple upside-down cake variety.
