For locals who have been keeping their eagle eyes on every little development at the Hudson House space in Park Village, patiently waiting for opening day, the countdown is nearly over.
The popular Vandelay Companies restaurant will officially open Monday, Sept. 14, at Park Village, taking over the former RA Sushi space at 1131 E. Southlake Blvd., next door to Gloria’s.
The approximately 5,000-square-foot restaurant brings Hudson House’s polished, East Coast-inspired style to Southlake with warm leather booths, a wraparound bar, a sit-down raw bar and an outdoor patio.
The menu is built around seafood, sushi and classic American favorites, with dishes like East Coast oysters, Hudson’s Avocado Dip, The Cheeseburger, Chicken Parm and the Hudson Salad. The raw bar and sushi menu are also a major part of the experience.
And then there are the drinks. Hudson House’s signature “World’s Coldest Martini” is made with Grey Goose vodka served on tap and chilled to 10 degrees - perfect for the seemingly never-ending 98F days, while the cocktail lineup also includes the Bleu & Gold martini, Lemon Drop, Espresso Martini, and Frozen Bellini.
The Southlake restaurant marks Hudson House’s 12th location, nearly a decade after the original opened in Highland Park.
“Southlake has the combination of energy, growth and appreciation for hospitality that we look for when entering a new neighborhood,” Vandelay Companies founder Hunter Pond said.
