Southlake Town Square has a new stop for sweet enthusiasts. JK Chocolate opened a pop-up shop at 335 N. Carroll Ave., next to Nothing Bundt Cakes, about two weeks ago.
JK Chocolate has grown a following thanks to its unique treat, the microchip cookie. These miniature treats come in 16 flavors, ranging from chocolate candy crunch and peanut butter with sea salt to six-spice gingersnap and rainbow sugar. It also offers chocolate sauces as well as gift boxes, perfect for the holidays.
This is the brand’s second location, with the flagship store in Dallas. That Dallas location, on Lovers Lane, has been selling treats for the past 10 years. And its owner, Julie Tobolwsky and Karleen Kusin, seized the opportunity to expand out and bring its products directly to its Southlake and Grapevine customer base.
Barry Zale, Julie’s brother, is operating the Southlake location with his wife Cindy as well as their son Taylor.
“We keep it in the family,” Barry says.
While the Southlake Town Square location is currently set to be a pop-up, Barry says they are waiting to see how the location performs to see how long JK Chocolate will be in town.
“We are prepared to come out here permanently,” Barry says.
