Southlake’s Tex-Mex cravings are about to be very well taken care of.
Lupe Tortilla, the beloved Texas-born restaurant known for its legendary fajitas and famously strong margaritas, is officially on its way to town.
The Buca di Beppo location at 2701 E State Hwy 114 in Southlake closed in late 2024 after the parent company filed for bankruptcy.
Per the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the restaurant will be moving into a newly renovated space at 2701 E. State Highway 114 — the former location of Buca di Bepo. Plans call for an expansive 8,439-square-foot dining room designed to welcome families, friends and anyone who believes a good meal should come with a little smoke and sizzle. Renovations are scheduled to begin April 15, with construction expected to wrap by July 1, putting Lupe Tortilla squarely on track for a warm-weather debut.
For those already counting the days, Lupe Tortilla is best known for its bold, crowd-pleasing Tex-Mex staples — think sizzling beef and chicken fajitas, handmade flour tortillas, and margaritas that don’t shy away from making a statement. Founded in 1983, Lupe Tortilla has grown into a Texas institution, now operating 31 locations across the state.
We’ll keep an eye out for opening details, but one thing is certain: this summer, Southlake will get a whole lot more delicious.
