Big Chicken, the fast-casual restaurant chain co-founded by retired NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal, is celebrating the opening of its fifth Texas location in Alliance this week. Located at 9749 North Freeway, Suite 101 in Fort Worth, this new spot is set to become a must-visit destination for foodies and chicken lovers alike.
Founded in 2018, Big Chicken fuses O’Neal’s home-cooked childhood favorites with today's trending flavors across more than 30 locations nationwide. Classic items like the Original Big Chicken sandwich and Uncle Jerome’s Nashville Hot sandwich come together with signature sides like his mother Lucille’s Cheez-It-crusted mac n’ cheese in a hearty and playful menu that mirrors the personality of its owner.
Destined to be popular across all Texas locations is the spicy sweet blend of the Shaq Attack chicken sandwich made with pepper jack cheese, jalapeno slaw and spicy chipotle bbq.
"The menu captures favorites from my childhood," O’Neal says. "We have sandwiches named after people important to me like my Uncle Jerome, my friend Chicago and even recipes inspired by my mom’s cooking from when I was a kid."
It seems like Shaq asked Texans, ‘Can you dig it?’ and the answer appears to be yes as the fast-growing restaurant brand has expansion plans to open more than 50 locations across the Lone Star State in the next five years.
