Arlington’s The Tipsy Oak owners Kevin and Julia von Ehrenfried are bringing a new concept to Trophy Club this June. The Trophy Table, which will open in the former Bread Winners Cafe Trophy Club location at 3000 TX-114, will offer a similar yet expanded menu to The Tipsy Oak on the first level. The Tipsy Oak has grown a following thanks to its delicious grub, live music and chill vibes.
On the second floor, Julia says guests should expect to find an elevated bar program featuring exclusive finds like high-end whiskey and wine.
“We are turning the upstairs, which used to be The Quarter Bar, into a speakeasy,” Julia says. “It will be a lounge/nightclub area.”
Julia describes the vibe of the second floor as industrial, steampunk glam, making it a whole different experience than the lower half of the restaurant. Downstairs, guests should expect a similar experience to The Tipsy Oak — a breezy patio environment with live music on the weekends (weather permitting).
Julia says that prior to The Trophy Table’s opening, her family will make several investments to enhance the space — a new draft beer system and covering the large patios are just a few examples. But she says she’s excited to bring something fresh to her community. As Keller residents, Julia knows the value the concept will bring to Trophy Club.
“It’s such a large amazing building,” Julia says. “We drive by it all the time. We have been working on this for about nine months, and now we are excited to announce.”
At first, the family thought about opening a second restaurant with the same name as its first, but Julia says she wanted to honor the city.
“We almost named it The Tipsy Oak, but we don’t want to be a chain. We are a small family and we want to pay tribute to the town,” she says.
That community involvement doesn’t stop at the name. Julia says she’s excited to get local feedback.
“We will listen to our community. If they want to see something, we will do it,” Julia says. “This is our whole life.”
