For local foodies who don’t mind a quick trek to Uptown Dallas – and those who have given up on making their own sourdough – prepare your palate for the next big thing in artisanal baking.
The Bread Club officially opened in March, bringing with it a level of fermentation science and flavor that North Texas hasn't seen before. This eatery from the Feels Like Home hospitality group, the team behind Michelin-starred Mamani, is anchored by Baking Director Peter Edris.
Edris arrives with a heavyweight pedigree from New York’s legendary Frenchette Bakery. Alongside Culinary Director Christophe De Lellis, he has crafted a menu where French reverence meets global inspiration. While the house-milled sourdough Texas Country loaf is a must-buy, the pastry case is where the indulgence happens. Don’t miss the Chocolate “B” Croissant, featuring thick bars of semi-sweet chocolate. The Pistachio Pain Suisse offers a nutty, fresh cream filling that perfectly complements the golden, crisp pastry.
The sweetness continues with the Kouign-Amann, a buttery, caramelized "queen" of a treat, and the Ensaymada, a savory Spanish pastry topped with sugar and cheese. Even the muffins get an upgrade here, like the strawberry fig corn muffin. Sandwiches, like the Jambon Beurre, are also leveling up with a traditional baguette adorned with rosemary ham, or the Spicy Chicken Special on a sesame baguette with chipotle piquillo aioli.
Beverages include a La Marzocco machine for signature drinks like the Pistachio Cream Top, an iced long black crowned with pistachio cold foam. It’s the kind of spot where you’ll want to linger, but before heading back home, be sure to browse their curated provisions shop. It is a goldmine for host gifts or a fancy "at-home" charcuterie board, stocked with Ibérico ham, Spanish potato chips, and high-end tinned fish.
While Uptown traffic is a frequent foodie hurdle, the complimentary validated parking in the Quad Garage makes your weekend bread pilgrimage entirely painless. Trust us — whatever you bring home will be the best thing to happen to your countertop since the toaster.
