White Castle opening Texas
White Castle’s leadership team, Town Crier, local business and civic leaders, Cravers and other special guests joined in the festivities announcing plans to build a Castle in The Colony, the first ever White Castle in Texas.
After more than a century of dominating the Midwest and East Coast, White Castle is finally sliding into Texas. The chain’s first-ever location in the state is set to open in summer 2026 at Grandscape in The Colony.
Founded in 1921 in Wichita, Kansas, White Castle is widely regarded as America’s original fast-food hamburger chain. Now, more than 100 years later, Texans will finally be able to enjoy the iconic sliders without leaving the state.
The upcoming location will feature the brand’s beloved menu, starting with the Original Slider—a small, square burger steamed on a bed of onions and topped with pickles, with optional cheese. Also on the menu are the Crispy Chicken Slider, Panko Breaded Fish Slider, and Breakfast Sliders served 24/7 with fresh-cracked eggs. Sides will include crinkle-cut fries, onion rings and mozzarella sticks, while dessert offerings range from strawberry cheesecake to fudge-dipped brownies and the popular gooey butter cake on a stick.
The opening is expected to create 80 to 100 new jobs, according to company officials, and adds another big name to The Colony’s growing dining scene. With the addition of White Castle, Portillo’s and the recently opened Gas Monkey Icehouse, Grandscape is quickly becoming a destination for comfort food and nostalgic eats.
