According to ThebrGatehouse, “When our women first enter their fully furnished apartments, brdecorated with special touches just for them by volunteer God Squad members, brthey begin to remember they have value. When they develop theirbrbudget and are guided by appointment through the General Store and KeepsbrBoutique for food and clothes, they remember they have dignity.brAnd when they begin to work and attend school, they gain confidence and realizebrthat independence is possible.”
Since September 2015,brmore than 800 volunteers have completed the one-hour volunteer training, andbrmore than 7,000 hours of volunteer time have been logged. The Gatehouse expectsbrto admit an additional 58 families this year to reach a full capacity of 96brfamilies.
