Do your kids love history and fun-filled activities? If so,brthe Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau has you covered. Every Saturday startingbrJune 4 and ending July 30, children and families can torch their own glassbrdinosaur medallion or dig for hidden treasures in historic downtown Grapevinebras part of the city's “Be the Dinosaur” museum exhibits.
The Dino Medallion Help-Create Experience, hosted by VetrobrGlassblowing Studio & Fine Art Gallery, will take place from 10 a.m. tobrnoon and welcomes attendees of all ages. The family-friendly event was inspiredbrby the discovery of dinosaur tracks around Lake Grapevine, a belovedbrdestination for community gatherings year-round. The cost to experience thisbrprehistoric adventure is $15 plus tax per medallion. Visitors must makebrreservations online in order to join others in the festivities.
Participants will be given the option to choose from fivebrpre-selected color mixes. Once their colors have been chosen, individuals canbrwatch as experienced glassblowing artists create works of art.
In addition to crafting their own unique dinosaur medallion,brattendees can also try their hand at paleontology during the Dino Digs. Duringbrthe event, curious explorers will have the chance to roll up their sleeves andbrsearch for hidden Dino riches.
Dino Digs will be held every Tuesday through Saturday frombr10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through September 18. The cost to attend the event is $12brplus tax per prehistoric discovery. Reservations can be made online or at the Vetro gallery.
