In case you haven'tbrheard, Drybar is officially open in Grapevine. Situated right next tobrGrimaldi’s, the place is vibrant and fun with a super-friendly (and talented)brstaff. Ladies: If you want to freshen up your look with a blowout, definitely makebryour way to Drybar. Several of us on the SouthlakebrStyle team stopped in for the grand opening and enjoyed blowouts. OurbrEditor had the opportunity to visit with Alli Webb, Drybar founder. See thebrQ&A below and go to TheDrybar.com to book your appointment or shop for products (Detox is our favorite).
SouthlakebrStyle: Tell us about thebrinspiration behind Drybar.
Webb:brFirst and foremost, it was my own hair. I have naturally curly hair that I’vebrfought with my whole life. I always wished there was a place like Drybar thatbrexisted because I used to beg my mom, who’s not a stylist, to blow out my hair.brAs a kid, I felt better when my hair was blown out. Fast forward all thesebryears later and I felt like there were enough women out there like me who lovebrgetting their hair done. That’s one of our biggest reasons for success … it’sbrmore about the feeling we’re selling. We’re not just selling blowouts; we’re sellingbrhappiness and confidence.
SouthlakebrStyle: What’s the secret to makingbra blowout last?
Webb: Drybrshampoo should be your best friend. It’s a nice way to extend your blowout.brAlso try sleeping on a satin or silk pillowcase. We’re actually in the processbrof launching one next year. It doesn’t rough up your hair the way that cottonbrdoes. Sleeping on silk is actually really good for your skin, too. Or justbrchange it up by adding a braid.
SouthlakebrStyle: What’s the most-requestedbrstyle?
Webb: That’sbrtough. The Mai Tai is among the most requestedbrbecause it’s a harder look to achieve on your own. But I can make the samebrargument for the Straight Up, especially if you have naturally curly hair.
SouthlakebrStyle: Anything else you’d likebrto add?
Webb: Webrlove Dallas. We have such a warm welcome here. It’s such a great city with sobrmany amazing, vibrant women. Dallas was actually our second city to open in. Webrknew the concept would work here. Grapevine is ourbrfourth location in the area and 49th location overall.
