Westlake is about to getbra lot busier: The daytime population of 12,000 and the residential populationbrof 1,200 are set to surge in the coming years thanks to new corporations comingbrto town along with numerous housing developments being completed.
The governor's officebrrecently announced that Sabre GLBL Inc. will expand its presence in Solana'sbrWestlake offices, bringing approximately 500 new jobs to the area with a $37brmillion capital investment. This announcement comes on the heels of Charles Schwab's announcement to bring 1,900 employees to the area at full build-out.brSchwab employees are already occupying the former Chrysler/TD Auto officebrcomplex, and the company plans to begin construction on Phase 1 of its newbrfacility in summer 2017. The addition of both corporations will increase thebrcurrent daytime population from 14,000 to 16,400.
“When people think ofbrWestlake, a town with a population of 1,200, they don't realize our daytime orbrworking population is more than 10 times that,” said Tom Brymer, town manager, brvia press release. “Westlake has been and continues to be very appealing tobrcorporations looking for more affordable locations, a business-savvybrenvironment, and convenient access to DFW airport. What they find here is allbrof that and an oasis of natural beauty set amidst an ever-expanding urbanbrlandscape – a perfect setting to both work and live.
Parallel to these moves, brthe town is seeing a dramatic increase in the area's housing developments. ThebrHillwood & Howard Hughes Circle T Ranch mixed-use development was alsobrsubsequently announced just north of the Schwab campus will include 275brresidential units at full build out. Westlake currently has several newbrresidential neighborhoods under construction or planned in the near future:brGranada - 84 homes; Entrada - 322 single family home and townhome units overbrnext 10 years; Quail Hollow- 92 large estate lots; and Carlyle Court - 7 lots.brOther more established neighborhoods nearing completion are Terra Bella, withbronly 5 lots remaining out of 28 and Vaquero with only 47 lots remaining out frombra total of 298.
“We are thrilled with thebraddition of these upper-echelon companies, which strengthen Westlake's standingbras a premier employment hub in the DFW Metroplex,” added Brymer.
