Lucy Dugger and Addison Pape
The brightest moon inbralmost 69 years shined down on Southlake this week. This supermoon, as it'sbrcalled, gave two young Dragons a bright idea: Turn it into an entrepreneurial opportunity.
Addison Pape and LucybrDugger, both age nine, brainstormed the idea to sell moon pies to celebrate thebrsupermoon. They opened Moonpie Café, similar to a lemonade stand, on theirbrstreet in Southlake's Lonesome Dove community. The girls sold moon pies tobrneighbors and friends for a buck a piece, earning some nice spending money justbrin time for the holidays.
“It was all their ideabrand a neat way to bring in some extra spending cash and get the neighborhoodbrtogether,” says Addison's mother, Ashley Pape.
Beneath a moon that wasbr14-percent larger than normal, neighborhood families gathered together to enjoybrtheir moon pies to the tune of moon-themed hits such as “Neon Moon,” “MoonbrRiver” and “Blue Moon.”
Forecasters say the moonbrwon't look as big and bright until 2034.
