Halloween is finally here, and many families are gearing up to dress up their kids and take them around the block for some sweet candy. But if the night is too creepy and crawly for your little one, here are a few alternative ways you can sneak in your fall fun this weekend.
Nothing says “fall” like a big and colorful pumpkin. Meadowmere Park is full of them this weekend with PumpkinFest running all weekend long. Come venture through the pumpkin maze, enjoy some delicious funnel cakes, take photos and buy some of the plumpest gourds that you can find — all while listening to the famous singing pumpkins the Boo Man Group. Tickets are $20.
Park Village is putting up a fun Halloween treat trail this weekend, and you can creep and crawl through it all weekend long. Dress up in your scariest costume and grab treats at some of the best retailers in the mall, whether it’s light bites from Jane, candy from The Pretty Kitty or the icy delights from Steel City Pops.
Sweet & Sassy is hosting a costume day on Saturday, Oct. 30, and your little girl is invited to come and dazzle alongside the rest of the kiddos! Swing by the salon between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and go trick-or-treating with the troop around the shopping center. And when you’re done, Sweet & Sassy has an extra treat to give to your little trick-or-treater.
Few things are as haunting on Halloween as a scary story, and Lonesome Dove Park is full of them this weekend. Come to the park at 1225 McCrae Trail at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 for an evening full of ghouls and goblins with the Southlake Public Library. You won’t be able to sleep after listening to all of the creepy tales that will be told.
Lonesome Dove Park isn’t the only place in Southlake filled with spine-tingling stories this weekend. The Carillon neighborhood is also hosting its own haunted evening on Oct. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m in the Oasis at 1681 Le Mans Lane. Come and enjoy a night full of crafts, snacks and all of the monster madness that you desire.
