While summer's almost over, there's a little bit of family fun that you can squeeze in before school starts next week. Learn more about some of the fun family events you can check out this weekend.
Outdoor Family Night At Dove Church
Grab your picnic blankets, lawn chairs and your favorite candy and head over to the Lonesome Dove Baptist Church for an outdoor movie night on Friday, August 13. There will be a bounce house, yard games and ice cream leading up to the outdoor movie. This event is free and popcorn will be provided to participants.
Main Event is pairing up with Kidz Bop for the ultimate morning of food, fun and playtime this Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. Registration includes an all-you-can-play activity wristband, arcade play card and pancakes with all the fixings you could want. The first 50 guests to sign up will receive a free Kidz Bop microphone.
Kids Movie Saturday At Lava Cantina
Enjoy some Creole food and free entertainment that’s great for the whole family this Saturday, August 14 at Lava Cantina. This weekend’s movie is "Tom & Jerry." The movie will start promptly at 12 p.m. and will have no commercials. Admission is free, and kids meals are $2 off.
The Champions Club at the Marq is hosting its monthly backyard game night for all families on Saturday, August 14. The night will be filled with traditional and not-so-traditional backyard games. This event is free to all members of the Champions Club, but anyone can participate with the purchase of a day pass.
Painting With A Twist - Sunset Cactus
Get artsy at Painting With A Twist from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 15. This week's family-friendly painting is a sunset cactus. Whether you haven't picked up a paintbrush in years or paint on a daily basis, Painting With A Twist makes painting fun for everyone. Tickets are $31 per person. Snacks and drinks are welcome.
