It’s getting hot in here. Whether you participate in a marathon, sing along to a fun musical or listen to a fun and colorful story, there’s plenty to do with the whole family this weekend.
Join the Shops at Southlake this weekend for the Hot Hatch Run, Walk and Roll to help benefit people living with spinal cord injuries and disabilities. Racing events include a 5K, 10K and 1-mile fun run, and breakfast is included for all participants. Plus, all finishers will get a medal and T-shirt at the end of the race!
CAMP at the Hill is hosting a free storytime with author Summer Nilsson as she reads from her newest children’s book “The Loodor Tales: The Land of the Pines.” Come to 9830 N. Central Express Way and follow Grey the kitten on her journey as she discovers “hoo” she is. The storytime begins at 11 a.m.
If you can’t get enough music, then come to the Palace Theater at Grapevine this Saturday for several singalong events the theater is hosting. “Mamma Mia!” will be playing at 4 p.m. while “Grease” follows it up at 7:30 p.m. Come and sing along with Meryl Streep, John Travolta, Amanda Seyfried and more! Tickets are $6 for one movie or $10 for both.
You’re never too old to learn how to braid, and that’s especially the case at Sweet & Sassy. At 5 p.m. on Sunday, the studio at 1081 E. Southlake Blvd., Suite 150 will teach its students how to braid hair into a nice, strong curl. Come and interact with other kids as everyone learns a brand new way to style their hair. Tickets are $15 each.
Heads up, reptile lovers! Repticon returns for an exciting two-day show at the Grapevine Convention Center this weekend. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, reptiles, animals and pets descend upon Grapevine for an amazing weekend full of live seminars and demonstrations. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for ages 5-12.
