Don't look at your calendar – Christmas is just two weeks away. We know you have plenty of shopping to do before Santa Claus comes to town. But while you're hitting up shops in Southlake Town Square, check out some of these fun holiday happenings going on this weekend.
Want to check out the newest novels while supporting an outstanding parent-teacher association? Come to Barnes and Noble at 9 a.m. on Saturday at 1430 Plaza Pl. and scan around the store for a new book you haven’t gotten around to reading yet. A portion of proceeds will go toward the Samuel Beck Elementary parent-teacher organization.
The elves at the North Pole may have Christmas in the bag most seasons, but this year, they’re especially having a hard time wrapping all of the presents in time for Christmas day. Give them a hand as Santa’s little helper at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at Legends Hall at The Marq on 285 Shady Oaks Dr. Help the elves wrap presents, listen to cheery Christmas music and play some fun Christmas games when you're all done.
Santa Claus Coming To Whimsy Cookie Co.
Santa Claus loves everybody’s cookies, especially the gooey cookies from Whimsy Cookie Co. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at 2645 E. Southlake Blvd., Santa is stopping at Whimsy Cookie Co. for a quick bite to eat and say “hi” to all the good girls and boys in the area. Eat delicious cookies, take a picture with Santa and tell him what you want for Christmas at this colorful cookie Christmastime event!
Everyone wants to see Santa around Christmastime. Everyone, that is, except for the Grinch. If you would like to meet the cuddly as a cactus character in person, come to Grubbs Infiniti at 1 p.m. on Saturday at 1500 E. State Hwy. 114 in Grapevine and see how vile he really is up in person. A donation of $10 will get you a photo with the infamous Dr. Seuss character, and all proceeds benefit the Duke and Oliver Foundation.
If you haven’t had a chance to wear an ugly Christmas sweater yet this season, here’s your chance! From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday at 1040 Mustang Dr., Summit Climbing Gym is hosting an ugly Christmas sweater and potluck night at their gym. Come and bring a dish, climb the walls and compete for fun prizes to see who has the ugliest Christmas sweater there. You’ll have a rocking time over at this climbing gym!
