Whether you get your groove on or hit a home run in the new Dragon baseball complex, there's plenty to look forward to this weekend. If you're having trouble deciding on what to do with your family, here are a few family-friendly events to consider going to this weekend.
Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Community Concert
The classic sounds of Beethoven and Tchaikovsky can be heard this weekend from Colleyville Heritage High School thanks to the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. At 7 p.m. on Friday at 5401 Heritage Ave., the FWSO will play Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5" and Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet" for music fans that want to be swept away by their strings and instruments. Come out and enjoy this musical community event presented by the APEX Arts League.
Want to check out the newly renovated Dragon baseball complex along with some skilled baseball players and delicious barbecue? Come to the Dragon Palooza event anytime between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at 1501 W. Southlake Blvd. and celebrate the new stadium with your fellow Dragons! Play baseball, enjoy some delicious Meat U Anywhere barbecue and bid for some fun silent auction items. This is one palooza you won’t want to miss.
Every kid wants to be a super kid, but before you can you need to know how to make your own super cape. Thankfully, the wonderkid herself Abigail Perez is here to help, and she’ll teach you how to make your own cape during her cape-making event at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Market by Macy’s on 321 State St. Come on out and make capes for yourself and kids at Cook Children’s Hospital.
If you’re looking to dance the night away with your family, bring everyone out to the Dazzle Dance at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Life Time Fitness at 1221 Church St. The dance’s theme is “Under The Big Top,” so put on your finest ringmaster suit, sparkling trapeze, or colorful clown outfit and have a circus of a good time! Registration is $20, while children under 4 get in free.
Altitude Trampoline Park Fundraiser
It's easy to jump for joy over at Altitude Trampoline Park in Grapevine, but jumping for a cause is even better. Come to the trampoline park from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday at 3530 N. Grapevine Mills Blvd. and enjoy leaping from trampoline to trampoline for Grapevine Church of Christ's fundraiser. You'll be benefitting their Nicaragua mission trip, and you'll have a blast doing it.
