As more COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, more in-person events are taking place. Whether you are in the mood to be creative, get outdoors or shop for local foods, there’s a lot of fun activities going on this weekend that the whole family can attend.
Summerfest at the Gaylord Texan
This weekend is the start of Summerfest at the Gaylord Texan. Enjoy a day at Paradise Springs by floating in the lazy river, riding down slides and soaking in the sun. Inside the resort, there is a pirate and princess academy, escape rooms and more. Summerfest starts May 21 and will end Sept. 6.
Hawaiian Falls, The Colony, is opening back up for the summer. Get on your swimsuit, and head over to the Colony to kick off the season this Saturday, May 22. Season pass holders get access to the park from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. then the park opens to the public from 12 to 5 p.m. Kids' tickets are $20.99.
Get creative this weekend by painting a puppy. Painting with a Twist instructor Mary will teach you and your family how to paint an adorable puppy. Whether you haven't picked up a paintbrush in years or paint on a daily basis, Painting with a Twist makes painting fun for everyone. Tickets are $31 per person. Snacks and drinks are welcome.
Summer Kick-Off Event, Nebraska Furniture Mart
To kick off the summer, Nebraska Furniture Mart is having carnival games, food trucks and is giving out a free craft kit for kids Saturday, May 22. Stop by the store to join in on all the fun activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Keller Farmers Market offers fresh Texas produce, meats, tamales, baked goods, artisan bread, cheese, salsa, pasta, pickles, jellies and jams, honey, baked goods, prepared foods, pet products and crafts. It is located by the creek in Bear Creek Park every Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Stop by to shop and support local businesses in Texas, rain or shine.
