Our goal is to always make our clients’ visions become reality and to showcase their individual style. For this project, our clients wanted an updated, layered look for their home, and we were so excited about the possibility to help make their dreams come true.
We love this kitchen for its warmth, spacious island and curated feel. Our clients had beautiful existing maple wood cabinetry that needed some updating. We created a custom stain to showcase the natural wood and add warmth to the kitchen. By adding the look of handmade subway tile, we brightened up the backsplash which gives the kitchen a clean look. The oversized island is essential for entertaining and large families. We hand-selected this quartzite, which is a natural stone that is durable and strong with the soft look of marble. Finally, to add to the layered, eclectic look we were going for, we chose antique copper lighting.
One of the biggest changes in this room is how we opened the living room. The fireplace was originally placed in the corner and there was a large built-in cabinetry unit, which cut into the moveable space of the room. By removing the fireplace, squaring off the corner, adding some new windows and centering the new fireplace along the main wall, we created a larger, more open room with natural light flowing in.
