With temperatures cooling and clocks reversing back an hour thanks to daylight saving time ending, autumn is now fully underway. So bring out the pumpkins and leaves and bundle up, because it’s time to get cozy for the fall season.
A CORNUCOPIA OF COLOR
One of the best ways to embody that fall feeling is through color. Bright or muted yellows, oranges, reds and browns permeate a fall atmosphere throughout your house no matter how you decorate. For a minimalist style, getting ready for fall can be as easy as replacing your welcome mat with one that has some fall colors, or replacing the jack-o’-lanterns with some autumnal gourds. For those who like to go all out, replace your regular rugs with ones that have fall flair or change out your wall decor to something that screams autumn.
NO LEAF LEFT BEHIND
It goes without saying that the leaf is an iconic symbol of the fall. No matter how you decorate, some part of your fall makeover should incorporate foliage. Strings of leaf garlands look great above fireplaces, kitchen cabinets or countertops, while leaf-adored pillows and blankets make great accessories for your furniture. Incorporating fall foliage can also be as simple as using leaf-themed mugs or adding a leaf wreath to the front door. However you incorporate your leaves, your fall furnishings look better with it.
FALL INTO COZINESS
The reason why people love fall so much? It celebrates cozy things. From the cool weather that allows for bundling up in blankets to the soups that bring warmth to the season, your fall decor can be as comfortable as you want it to be. Decompress with the fall-scented candles you can burn around the house while resting on an aesthetically pleasing fall-esque throw pillow. A cozy soup can be eaten out of a pumpkin-shaped dish while a pumpkin spiced latte can be sipped out of an autumnal mug. And nothing gets better cozying up on the couch under a fall-themed quilt.
