Since Tarrant County has announced its stay at home order last week, many employees have been getting comfortable working from their computers at home. Southlake Style is no exception, as we’ve been working from home since Monday, March 16. If you catch your productivity dwindling and need some tips on how to stay on task, our team has you covered.
Keep To Your Original Schedule
"I have been trying to keep on schedule at home as I would if I was at the office every day – getting up the same time, showering, breakfast and then, of course, a needed lunch break. I also have office phone calls forwarded to my cell, so I’m still answering it as if I was back at the office."
- Kelly Rose, Office Coordinator
Create A Routine
"At our house, we are doing what we can to stick to a routine. Work out, shower, make the bed, get dressed, eat breakfast. Keep your focus just like you’re going to work. Office time is office time, no matter where or when."
- Mike Tesoriero, Publisher
Don’t Get Distracted
"Set up a quiet and well-lit space, have live face-to-face interactions with teammates and clients daily and keep your normal routine as much as possible. Don’t let outside distractions get in your way like pets, kids, lawn crew, drivers, ducks in your swimming pool, etc."
- Nicole Tesoriero, Sales and Marketing Director
Glow Up
"Get put together, whether that's putting on makeup, doing your hair, wearing a cute pair of earrings or putting on jeans. I find getting somewhat put together puts me in a better mood to be productive."
- Lizzy Spangler, Contributing Writer
Get Some Fresh Air
"Periodically get up and walk around. Get some fresh air! Open up the windows for some natural light."
- Jenn Rich, Account Executive
Change Your Scenery
"Change your scenery, if possible. Even if this is just going to different parts of your home, or working from your backyard or driveway. It helps break up the day."
- Andrea Hatchett, Advertising Coordinator
Maintain A Work-Life Balance
"I think one of the hardest parts about working from home is successfully shutting off when your day is complete. So while many have a morning routine to set themselves up for the day, I also have a routine for after I log off and ease into my evening. It helps me separate my thoughts and provides me with a little work-life balance while staying in the same place."
