Southlake-area best friends Charli and Collins knew what they wanted to wear. The problem was finding it.
The girls noticed that shopping for tween clothes often meant choosing between styles that felt too young and pieces that seemed designed for someone older. So, with help from their moms, Christine Kane and Kiley Puckett, they decided to create something of their own.
The result is She Said, a new tween fashion and lifestyle brand built around clothes girls their age would actually want to pull from the closet.
And Charli, 10, and Collins, 12, weren’t simply brought in to model the finished product. The girls helped shape the debut collection from its earliest stages, weighing in on designs, colors, fabrics, graphics and styles, then trying on pieces and offering feedback on fit before deciding what ultimately made the cut.
“We wanted to create clothes that girls our age would actually be excited to wear,” Collins says.
The resulting collection mixes playful, feminine and sporty pieces, including tees, jerseys, cozy separates, shorts, pajamas and accessories designed to be mixed and matched according to each girl’s personal style.
For Charli, the idea goes beyond what’s hanging in the closet.
“We created She Said because we wanted girls our age to feel confident being exactly who they are,” she says.
She Said’s first collection is available exclusively online at shesaidtrends.com, with plans for the young brand to eventually grow beyond apparel into a broader lifestyle and community platform.
