Grapevine’s beloved indie bookstore, Talking Animals Books, has officially opened a second location at 909 S. Main St. in Grapevine, just across the street from Hotel Vin.
Founded by Katy Lemieux and Valerie Walizadeh in 2023, Talking Animals quickly became a community hub for book lovers, regularly hosting packed author events and bustling book clubs. The new location, not far from the original shop, offers expanded space, exposed brick, a coffee-and-wine bar and room for larger gatherings.
With the extra square footage, the team plans to bring in more national author tours and host even more of the popular local book clubs that have made Talking Animals a fixture in Grapevine’s downtown scene.
Lemieux says the move was driven by both necessity and opportunity.
“We realized our events were outgrowing our space,” she notes. “This new location gives us room to breathe, dream bigger and build the kind of literary café we always envisioned.”
Whether you’re a lifelong reader or just looking for a quiet spot to browse and sip, Talking Animals’ newest chapter proves that Grapevine’s love of books is only growing stronger.
