Grapevine's favorite indie bookstore is turning a new page - this one illustrated.
Talking Animals Books has transformed its original Worth Street location into a dedicated children's bookstore, giving families a focused destination for picture books, chapter books, middle-school favorites, and stories made for young readers. The shop is still putting the finishing touches on the refreshed space, but the expanded kids' selection is already available.
Readers looking for adult and YA titles can find the fuller selection at Talking Animals' newer 909 S. Main St. location, just across the street from Hotel Vin, which also carries a smaller children's section for good measure.
It's a natural evolution for a bookstore that has become a community fixture since Katy Lemieux and Valerie Walizadeh founded it in 2023. The Main Street location was born when events outgrew the original space. Now Worth Street gets to grow into something new, too: a place where the next generation of Grapevine readers finds their first favorite book.
