Southlake has had quite the summer so far. Between Father’s Day, the Fourth of July and Miss Texas competitions, there’s been a lot to love about the month of June. Here are some of Southlake readers’ favorite stories from last month.
1. 10 Lego Fun Facts
Also placing on our top-performing articles for May, March’s listicle climbed the charts to being readers’ favorite story last month. With over 1,800 page views, readers loved learning some lesser-known facts about the popular toy company, like how over 36,000 Lego bricks are molded every minute or that Lego is technically the world’s No. 1 rubber tire manufacturer.
2. J-Belle Kimbrell Named Miss Texas’ Outstanding Teen
Miss Southlake’s Outstanding Teen earned yet another significant title last month. After participating in the Miss Texas competition, J-Belle Kimbrell was named Miss Texas’ Outstanding Teen and won $7,500 in educational scholarships. J-Belle also won Overall On-Stage Question In Evening Wear and Overall Talent for her rendition of “The Wizard And I” from “Wicked.”
3. Southlake Hosts Stars And Stripes 2022
Southlake was really looking forward to Stars and Stripes this year. On Sunday, July 3, the city put on the annual patriotic festival complete with musical performances, snacks and treats from local vendors and the most colorful fireworks that it could muster. 4. 6 Restaurants Offering Father’s Day Specials
Southlake loves its fathers, and that’s no more evident than with them looking for ways to treat dad for Father’s Day. Between Brick House Tavern’s brews, Kirby’s Steakhouse, Morton’s roasted prime rib, Perry’s bone-in strip steak, Sky Creek Kitchen’s brisket Benedict and Truluck’s seafood spread, Dad’s stomach was plenty full this past Father’s Day.
5. Living In Luxury
June was a big issue for the real estate scene in Southlake, and readers gravitated most towards our "Living In Luxury" pictorial showcasing the fanciest houses in the market. While every house was special in its own way, readers resonated with the $10.5 million gated estate at 720 White Chapel Blvd. the most. What else can we say? You can only find the best in Southlake.
