Fun fall events and the beginning of the holiday season are just a slice of what awaits you this month!
November 6 | Celina
“Troubadour: noun. A French medieval lyric poet composing and singing in Provençal in the 11th to 13th centuries, especially on the theme of courtly love.” — Oxford Dictionary. Now this highly romantic singing tradition is coming to Texas for the inaugural Troubadour Festival! But instead of French medievals, this event will host Pat Green, the Josh Abbott Band, Stoney LaRue, Cody Canada & The Departed and Kyle Nix and The 38s. It will also feature 42 of the most popular barbecue joints in the state, so you can spend the day eating, drinking and enjoying amazing music.
November 14 | Billy Bob’s
Celebrate country music Texas-style at the 2021 Texas Country Music Awards at Billy Bob’s! Awards season is in full swing, but no one does it better than the Lone Star State. You can watch red carpet interviews, then settle in for the pre-show, main ceremony, performances on the Main Stage and Honky Tonk Stage and enjoy tons of great food and drinks. The event features live music from Darrin Morris Band, Walt Wilkins, Ariel Hutchins, Sundance Head, Curtis Grimes, Brandon Rhyder and more. Don’t forget to dress up in your Sunday best (complete with your favorite cowboy boots).
November 16 to December 5 | Music Hall At Fair Park
While many have seen the televised production on Disney+, listened to the original Broadway soundtrack too many times to count and practically memorized every line of this amazing musical, seeing “Hamilton” live and in-person is sure to blow everyone away. Don’t throw away your shot to see it in Dallas!
November 16-21 | Bass Hall
Glowing yellow eyes. Soft, colorful fur. Makeup so intricate you can’t help but stare. But the most amazing thing about the record-breaking musical “Cats?” Its breathtaking choreography and amazing music by Andrew Lloyd Webber (“Phantom of the Opera”)! “Cats” is coming to Bass Hall to entertain audiences with its magical tale about a tribe of cats — each more unique than the last. This seven-time Tony Award-winning musical features scenic and costume design by John Napier (“Les Misérables”), all-new lighting design by Natasha Katz (“Aladdin”), new choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler (“Hamilton”) and direction by Trevor Nunn (“Les Misérables”).
November 20 | Southlake Town Square
Christmas is coming alive in Southlake this month. Home For The Holidays returns to Southlake Town Square Nov. 20 for its 21st annual Christmas tree lighting. Come and visit Santa’s village, ride on one of the horse-drawn carriages and see the tree light up in colorful fashion just in time for the holidays! Whether you come for the Christmas carols, the ornaments, the decorations or even for Santa himself, Southlake’s Home For The Holidays is the kickoff you need to get into that festive spirit this holiday season.
November 21 | American Airlines Center
Things are looking good for Dan + Shay, as they have recently released their fourth studio album “Good Things,” received their fourth Grammy award and won 2021 iHeartRadio Music awards and Academy of Country Music awards. This multi-platinum duo also holds the record for biggest first-week streaming total in country music history with “10,000 hours” (featuring Justin Bieber), which was also the fastest country song to reach 1 million U.S. track equivalents. This high-energy, feel-good concert will feature a mix of some of your favorite songs, including “Tequila,” “All to Myself,” “Steal My Love” and “Good Things.”
November 25 | Dallas
Put on your stretchy pants and get ready for one of the largest multi-event races in the country — the 54th annual Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot that benefits the YMCA’s Community Health programs. This Thanksgiving Day run offers options for a dog trot, a trot for tots and toddlers, a junior 1K trot, a 5K run/walk, an 8-mile run and a virtual trot at home! To make your race even more special, reserve a pass to The Roost, where you can relax, drink mimosas, eat breakfast before the race, refuel with after-race snacks and more. After this, you’re sure to be hungry for turkey and stuffing!
November 27 | Billy Bob’s
With 10 studio albums and 23 singles under his belt, Granger Smith is a country music staple. But his latest album, “Country Things,” is his most emotional yet, written after the heartbreaking loss of his 3-year-old son River. Feel his heart and talent at Billy Bob’s this month, when he sings hits from the album like “That’s Why I Love Dirt Roads,” “Hate You Like I Love You,” “Diesel” and “Man Made.”
December 3 | Keller
Santa Claus’s cheeks are rosy for a different reason this month — because he’s racing through a 5K course at Keller’s festive Santa Scurry! This holly jolly event will be filled with Santa-clad looks, from Santa hats and jingle bells to Rudolph noses and white, fluffy beards. This event is put on in conjunction with the Keller Hollydays events, so you can see the Christmas tree lighting, Holly Jolly Light Parade and fireworks show! Participants also get a themed long-sleeve shirt and finisher’s medal that doubles as an ornament.
