From plenty of Oktoberfest events to concerts galore, here is what’s going on this month.
Warner Bros. Presents: Bugs Bunny At The Symphony
September 3-5 | Bass Hall
Happy birthday, Bugs Bunny! The famous carrot-chomping, mischief-loving, snarky Looney Tune is turning 80 this year, and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra is celebrating with the 30th anniversary edition of “Warner Bros. Presents: Bugs Bunny At The Symphony.” Bugs and his friends — Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner — will appear on a big screen, while the symphony plays original scores including “What’s Opera, Doc?,” “The Rabbit of Seville,” “Rhapsody Rabbit” and “Dynamite Dance.” There will also be three new 3D Looney Tunes shorts. Laughs, nostalgia and fantastic music abound!
Skyline Half Marathon, 10K & 5K
September 4 | Dallas
Glittering skyscrapers and pretty views of downtown Dallas make the Skyline Half Marathon, 10K & 5K a run to remember. Rescheduled from March 9, this race, which is also available virtually, takes place near the Trinity River with plenty of stops for water breaks and taking photos. Participants each get a themed shirt and finisher’s medal, with proceeds going to several worthy nonprofit organizations including DKMS and Genesis Women’s Shelter. These views are definitely an upgrade from your regular neighborhood route!
September 9 | Katy Trail
A soft cotton blanket is spread out on the grass in the park, while live music plays from the Emerald City Band’s Downtown Fever Band. But instead of cold sandwiches and warm water bottles from home, this amazing picnic features your choice of 50 neighborhood restaurants, serving everything from tacos to burgers to sushi. Pretty great, right? Register to run in the fun Katy 5K to get a free shirt, two Michelob ULTRAs and access to the Katy Picnic afterward.
September 11 | American Airlines Center
Sugar-sprinkled watermelon slices, ‘70s-inspired fashions that boldly blur the line between masculinity and femininity, music that feeds your soul and those ever-mischievous sparkling green eyes — what else can Harry Styles make you obsessed with? Harry Styles’ affinity for feather boas and lyrics that won’t leave your head has cemented him as a global icon, even outside of One Direction.
September 11-12 | Billy Bob’s Texas
Falling in love is easy when Brett Young’s music is on. With classic hits like “Sleep Without You,” “In Case You Didn’t Know” and “Mercy,” as well as newer bops “Not Yet,” “You Got Away With It” and “Lady,” this multi-platinum country artist has a practically never-ending supply of heart-pumping tunes delivered in his signature California/Tennessee style. And when the romantic lyrics are paired with Young’s charming stage presence live at Billy Bob’s, well, there won’t be a heart in sight that isn’t swooning!
September 16-19 | Addison
Tap the kegs, raise your steins and shout “prost,” because Addison Oktoberfest is back! Inspired by the festivals in Munich, Germany, this weekend-long event features authentic German food (hello, soft pretzels and brats!) and biergartens; a Partyhalle with live music, dancing and entertainment; silly games and cool events like bier barrel rolling, a stein-carrying relay, German Idol and the Dachshund Dash; and a Marktplatz of specialty gifts. Kids can enjoy the Kinderzelt section with arts-inspired activities. Play that polka music and get ready to yodel-lay-hee-hoo into a good time!
September 16-19 | Grapevine
Velvety, rich, fruity, bitter or chocolatey — what’s your favorite wine flavor? Discover something new with each sip at the 35th annual GrapeFest, featuring more than 150 wines from 40 Texas wineries. This is the largest wine festival in the southwest, with several wine and brew pavilions, a champagne terrace, a grape-stomping event, a champagne cork shoot-off, the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic and more. There are also plenty of family-friendly (aka not wine-themed) events such as live music, the ItalianCarFest, a carnival and midway, KidsWorld, shopping and the GrapeFest Tennis Classic.
September 18 | The Pavilion At Toyota Music Factory
Just like the liquor it's named after, Whiskey Myers’ music goes down smooth and always leaves you wanting more. This country rock band sings about heavy topics (“Bury My Bones”), love (“Rolling Stone”) and their Southern roots (“Lonely East Texas Nights”) in a way that feels authentic and relatable. Hear for yourself when the band’s members — Cody Cannon, John Jeffers, Cody Tate, Jeff Hogg, Jamey Gleaves and Tony Kent — come to town this month.
September 23 | Dos Equis Pavilion

September 23-25 | Panther Island Pavilion
