These delightful flowers bloom in an impressive array of colors

Phlox drummondii

In Bloom: March–June

Found in an impressive, if not baffling, array of colors — from red and pink to blue, purple and white — Drummond’s phlox grow in fields and along roadsides in east, south and central Texas. To the botanist, the many colorful variations of phloxes may be mystifying, but to the rest of the state, they’re simply a springtime delight.

Flower Fact: According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Texas is the western-most point where Drummond’s Phlox are found natively.
