Miracle League of Southlake is kicking off a new venture: The organization is working with Cooperstown Dreams Park to bring the magic of baseball to Southlake. And, the organization also wants to send players to play on the beautiful fields in Cooperstown, New York.
John Slocum and Michele Ciccone talked with Southlake Style about the project. “For children who love baseball, playing at Cooperstown Dreams Park is the opportunity of a lifetime,” says Slocum.
For approximately 13 weeks every summer, the baseball tournament facility in New York comes alive with all the excitement of the game. Players age 12 on May 1 of the respective year spend a week learning, practicing and playing baseball. Thousands of teams apply for the opportunity to play in Cooperstown, and approximately 1,300 are selected. Slocum, in conjunction with a team from the Southlake Baseball Association, hopes to send two players from Miracle League of Southlake in summer 2017.
