Is one of your goals for 2018 getting your family out on the weekends? Well, these five family-friendly activities are great ways to get started. If you are looking for a fun event that will keep your kids engaged, we have got you covered. Check out what's happening this weekend.

Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark Grand Opening

Treat your kids to a day on the water at the Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark grand opening event. The facility, located in Grand Prairie, is opening its doors at 5:00 p.m. and is expecting a big turnout. And for good reason. The first 50 people in line will receive an annual pass to the park. Check out what else you can walk away with here. Who’s ready to make a splash?

Health Fair Wellness Challenge Kickoff

Get your family excited about fitness this year by coming out to the Health Fair Wellness Challenge Kickoff on Saturday. For the next nine weeks, the city will be helping families track their daily health choices to rack up points and eventually prizes. Plus, you will find a loving LiveFit community there that will cheer you on along the way. During the kickoff, you will hear all about the classes, lectures and activities that are scheduled for the next few months and walk away with lots of information to help you lead a healthier lifestyle.

Apple “Cookie” Decorating Station

During the month of January, stop by the Shed on Saturdays at the Dallas Farmers Market to make and decorate apple cookies the whole family can enjoy. Natural Grocers will have a nutritional coach leading the activities and talking to guests about how to lead a life full of healthier food choices.Stick around afterward to get a tour of the weekend market.

Repticon Dallas

Are your kids into animals that crawl or squirm around their habitats? Take them out to the Grapevine Convention Center this weekend to see them live at Repticon. The show will feature tons of regional and national vendors exhibiting various reptiles, amphibians and more. Every hour will have a different live animal seminar or interaction, so there will always be something going on. Plus, the event will host raffles of reptile supplies and merchandise, so you can walk out rocking some great Repticon swag. It’s a great way to surprise your boys with a fun outing that they can brag about at school for the rest of the semester.

Incredible Handmade Pizza Workshop

If artisan pizza sounds like a good weekend treat for your family, make your way over to Taste Buds Kitchen on Sunday to learn from the masters themselves. During their handmade pizza workshop, guests will learn the secrets behind preparing dough from scratch, shaping the pie and creating unique flavor combinations you can enjoy time and time again. You’ll also walk away with a few extra skills on how to create donut bites with chocolate sauce to reward yourself after cleaning your pizza plates. It’s a great way to get the family working together and make memories that will last a lifetime.
