Business Development Account Executive

Sales — Southlake, TX Salary: $30K

Commission (uncapped)

As a Business Development Account Executive at Southlake Style, you will be part of a dynamic team with specific responsibilities to increase sales of a market-leading local media company. Responsibilities for this position include meeting individual sales goals, actively prospecting for and developing new business and customizing multi-platform integrated programs for advertisers. Under the supervision of the Sales and Marketing Director, this position is responsible for growing the company’s local and regional customer base. 

We are looking for ambitious, organized, self-motivated and self-directed professionals. The ideal candidate must have excellent organizational and communication skills along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and grow a database of new sales opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with local business owners and decision-makers through great customer service and consistent brand representation
  • Analyze and understand the competitive marketplace and industry trends
  • Consult with clients and prospects to create customized, multi-platform marketing plans including print, digital and event sponsorships
  • Execute and communicate weekly sales reporting
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales goals

Job Qualifications:

  • Education: bachelor's degree and equivalent work experience
  • Experience: 3+ years of consultative sales and customer service experience
  • Qualifications: strong communication skills, both verbal and written; strong focus on customer satisfaction; results-driven and self-motivated with a positive attitude; a passion for print, digital and event sponsorship advertising trends; cold calling, prospecting and negotiating skills; high competency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Salesforce or other CRM; confidence speaking to high-level decision-makers and agencies.  


  • Base salary of $30,000
  • Uncapped commission
  • $65,000+ year one potential at 100% to sales goal (salary and commission)

Marketing and Events Coordinator
Salary: $40-50K based on experience

Are you creative and outgoing? Do you have strong marketing skills, attention to detail and the desire to build upon an established brand beloved by an entire city? If so, we want to showcase your skills and experience to the resident readers and advertisers of our award-winning, city-focused lifestyle media company.

As the Marketing and Events Coordinator at Southlake Style you will be part of a small, yet dynamic team. Under the direct supervision of the Sales and Marketing Director, this position is responsible for building brand loyalty and awareness amongst our readers and advertisers. The position works with both internal and external teams to produced content-based programs and events for customers and consumers of our brands. Specific responsibilities include; copywriting, editing and dissemination of digital and print content to targeted audiences.

This position requires a multi-talented communicator who collaborates closely with the publisher, sales team, in house art and editorial staff to maintain and enhance company branding. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Marketing Communications (50%):

  • Collaborate with the team to define and develop all B2B sales and marketing collateral: media kid, sell sheets, e-newsletter, etc.
  • Develop and deliver public relations and community outreach PR to community outlets and partners
  • Reader contests and loyalty programs
  • Collaborate on published branded content special advertising sections, business profiles, promotional and event pages and branded advertising copy
  • Write/edit copy and coordinate photography and images

Event Coordination (50%):

  • Marketing and administration of all the publication's monthly and annual events
  • Coordinate event strategy and execution
  • Develop and deliver sponsorship/marketing materials
  • Point person for community event calendar and
  • Work with internal and external staff to ensure a positive guest experience for sponsors and guests

Job Qualifications

  • Education: bachelor's degree in marketing, PR, journalism or other communication field
  • Skills of a successful candidate: the ability to share concepts successfully in both B2B and B2C environments through engaging short-form copywriting; strong project management, organization and planning skills; strong attention to detail; ability to work effectively and professionally with internal staff, clients and community; ability to work in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and WordPress; experience with social media, Facebook, Twitter and e-newsletters
