Office Manager

Administrative– Southlake, TX
Hours: 35-40 per week

Salary: $18-$22/hour

Southlake Style magazine is looking for the next smart, kind and fun member of our our fast-paced publishing team!

In addition to a smiling face, those wanting to join our publishing party must be highly organized and efficient problem solvers with an extreme commitment to community relations and customer satisfaction.

Candidates must love to work with people— most of the time and our two office golden retrievers— all of the time. The person in this position will report directly to the Sales and Marketing Director and will look forward to supporting the entire team towards its goal of producing the best magazine in Southlake.

Ultimate success in this position will require a proactive, take-charge attitude, attention to detail and excellent follow through. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • A positive first impression
  • Process monthly invoicing and payments via Quickbooks
  • Leading knowledge of our billing and CRM systems
  • Maintain the office master schedule
  • Assist in administration of company sponsored functions
  • Document management and efficient file organization
  • Work well with external vendors and service providers
  • Perform basic office management functions
  • Keep the office stocked and organized

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience in professional office administration (legal, banking or accounting support a plus)
  • The ability to work 35-40 hours per week
  • Must be highly proficient with Quickbooks and G Suite/MS Office

Staff Writer 1

Journalism– Southlake, TX
Salary: $33K-$42K based on experience

Are you creative with a knack for engaging copyediting? Do you have an eye for detail and the heart to capture stories beloved by an entire city? If so, we want to showcase your skills and experience to the resident readers of our award-winning city-focused lifestyle magazine.

As a Staff Writer at Southlake Style you will be part of a small, yet dynamic team. Under the supervision of the publisher, the position is responsible for writing and editing monthly print, digital and social media content. This position also collaborates closely with the in-house art director and a team of freelance writers in order to develop high-quality lifestyle content within hard editorial deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and write department editorial and associated photography
  • Daily management of digital content and social media
  • Report and write short form editorial features
  • Aggregate relevant city and school news
  • Edit copy for grammar, punctuation and factual integrity
  • Include stylistic headlines and captions
  • Attend local events of note and network within the community

Skills & Experience:

  • BA Journalism or equivalent communications degree
  • 0-2 years as a regular writer/contributor of an established media property
  • Excellent written communication, engaging short form editing
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a professional team structure
  • Google Drive/MS Office, basic photography

Advertising Account Executive
Sales—Southlake, TX

The award-winning lifestyle community magazine, Southlake Style, is growing and always searching for great sales talent. We are looking for full-time and part time candidates with 2 to 7+ years of experience as junior, mid-level and senior level Account Executives.

We are aggressively seeking Account Executives to build relationships and sell print, digital, social and event solutions to area businesses. Successful candidates will be responsible for driving results for current clients and proactively selling to new businesses. This sales position collaborates closely with the Advertising Director and creative team to develop and deliver high quality advertising campaigns for local and regional businesses.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Grow an existing book of accounts and maintain and expand customer base
  • Prospect new business, develop relationships and customize integrated media campaigns through personal, email and phone consultations.
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales goals.

Skills & Experience:

  • 2 to 7+ years consultative sales, business development, or fundraising experience including prospecting, in-person meetings and negotiations.
  • Ability to identify key drivers of a client’s business and develop relevant marketing strategies.
  • Adept at offering clients a unique perspective, teaching them new insights and leading to relevant product solutions.
  • Sustain a weekly and monthly targeted call list with the goal of closing sales.
  • Meeting and exceeding client expectations.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM software is a plus.
