Crank up the holiday music and break out the ugly Christmas sweaters because it’s officially time to celebrate the season. If you have family in town or want to entertain your kids on their break, we have you covered. Here are a few holiday-inspired family-friendly events happening this weekend.
Santa’s Village
Embark on the wonders of the Christmas season by stopping by Santa’s Village in Southlake Town Square this weekend. From November 11 to December 24, the big man himself will be out in Rustin Park ready to meet all of the local good boys and girls. It’s a great time to snag a family photo and give your kids the gift of Christmas magic.
Disney on Ice: “Frozen”
Embrace the chilly season by letting go and heading out to the Allen Event Center see Disney On Ice Presents “Frozen.” These dynamic characters will come to life during performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and take you on the beautiful tale of discovering true love. Your ride back to Southlake may be full of silly songs like “Love Is An Open Door” and “For The First Time In Forever,” but it will be a night your little ones won’t forget.
Grand Tree Lighting Celebrating
See your favorite jolly man pop on some skates during the Galleria Dallas’ Grand Tree Lighting Celebrating feat. Meryl Davis and Charlie White. At 12 p.m., a back-flipping, ice-skating Santa Claus will come out and skate alongside Olympic and National Champion-ranked performers to start the lighting of the country’s largest indoor tree. It will be a day full of glitz, glam and a whole lot of lights.
Holiday in the Park
See your favorite rides sparkle at Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas. From November 16 to December 30, the amusement park will be open for select days to revel in the Christmas season. Attractions include performances like The Holiday Hams and the Holiday Tree of Trees Light Spectacular, the Deep in the Heart of Texas light display, a Merry Marketplace and much more. It’s a great place to bring a big group that wants to get out and try out a new holiday tradition.
Storytime with Santa Claus
Starting this Friday, Storytime with Santa Claus is back at NorthPark Center. Despite his busy schedule, Santa has been telling holiday tales at the Dallas mall for 30 years. This year, he will return with a heartfelt reading on Monday through Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m. It’s a great way to convince your kids to get excited about going holiday shopping.
