“I love getting to know my patients and their families,” – Brian Straus, MD
HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE RECOGNIZED BY YOUR NORTH TEXAS PEERS AS A TOP DOC?
It is an honor. When another physician refers a patient to a surgeon, this shows great trust. I do not take that responsibility lightly.
WHAT IS YOUR HEALTHCARE PASSION?
My mother was a nurse and a single mom. I became enamored with healthcare as I heard her stories about caring for patients. I was always impressed that she was able to provide such care for her family at home as well as in the hospital.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR PARTICULAR SPECIALTY?
I chose Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle surgery because of the diversity. I treat a wide spectrum of patients, from the very young to the elderly. In addition, I am able to perform a wide array of procedures from small, minimally invasive procedures to large reconstructions. This keeps it interesting!
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT WORKING WITH PATIENTS?
Often after treating a patient, they will refer their friends or family. It’s a privilege to get to know everyone and I cannot help feeling honored by the confidence this demonstrates.
