The banks of the Trinity River may be a far cry from Venice Beach, but The Bahama Beach Club (BBC), situated unassumingly off of Beltline Road in Coppell, offers a full palate of seasonal fun with a variety of sports, leagues, activities, musical entertainment, dining, cocktails and more to choose from. 14 Sand Volleyball Courts are available and complemented by a fully-stocked “beach bar.”
League Sand Volleyball reigns from Monday to Thursday, with Friday Nights designated to give back to the community as a “Teen Night” with no alcohol being served and a family friendly atmosphere with games and music all night. Saturdays are open for tournaments and private events all summer long! No Soxx Volleyball administers the majority of our leagues as well as Big D Sports, and also internally. We gladly accommodate a wide range of skill levels. Even if you're a novice who thinks Karch Kiraly is the capital of Pakistan, you can still sign up a co-ed after-work league or have a pick-up game with friends – all while staying a stone's throw away from the bar. Those seeking sand without surf won't have to worry about tidal waves or beach traffic. Just make sure to tread lightly when mixing your kill shots with shots at the bar. At Bahama Beach Club, “spike” has a dual meaning.
BBC offers $5 open play volleyball from open until around 5:30pm Monday through Friday (unless booked for private event), after which leagues hold court. Weekends see pick-up games breaking out in the daytime and patrons taking in the bar atmosphere until closing time at midnight. If you don't happen to be up for digging out volleyballs and eating sand, try your hand at a selection of games that includes sumo wrestling, kickball, paintball and dodge ball. Look for our driving range to open spring of 2013 for the golf enthusiasts!
Over the past 20 years, the Bahama Beach Club has been known as Lone Star Volleyball Club and Side-Outs Volleyball Club. The once famous Lone Star was known for its wild parties, less maintained facilities, and its Biker Friendly Bar.
Bahama Beach Club has been completely remodeled from top to bottom and is modeled after a Miami Beach Club or Caribbean Resort. Mosaic Glass Tiles mimicking the warm feel of the ocean are prevalent around both bars as well as the restaurant area. Seating areas have been thoughtfully designed with warm, comfortable, modern furniture that creates an interior feel which is inviting to guests. Also new at BBC is the outside deck beach bar which will easily accomodate up to 20 seated guests who can watch the new entertainment center or volleyball games being played in front of them!
The new ECO "Farm to Table" Restaurant has captured the same designs with a slight twist. ECO was designed with an Earth Friendly décor, utilizes 70% bio-degradible packaging and cleaning supplies, manages an on-site Organic Garden, as well as sources locally grown and produced menu items to make this Fitness Oriented Restaurant a winner with the locals. ECO will be open in late April or early March of this year.
Other additions to BBC include the Outdoor Yoga Studio, Boot Camp Facility,
Kidz Korner, Dog Park, and the 200 acre Sports Fields that host Dodgeball, Kickball,
Paintball, and coming soon...Iso-Soccer!
