While Texas is opening its salons back up this month, a new salon is on its way to Southlake this fall – and this one goes to the dogs.
Dogtopia is a daycare, spa and grooming salon that specifically caters to dogs. With over 130 centers available across the nation, Dogtopia is working on opening over 16 new centers this year, one of which is in Southlake.
“Southlake is a community that encourages family and community involvement, supports local businesses and loves their furry family members,” Southlake owner Sherman Hatch says. “We want to provide a place for dogs to be able to socialize, play and grow in our modern and safe facility and give pet parents the opportunity to enhance the joy of dog parenthood.”
Similar to childcare, Dogtopia focuses on socialization, education and exercises for dogs in a clean, safe and open-play environment. Sherman says Dogtopia’s team of canine coaches undergo rigorous training and certification exams before they can look over any dogs. The playrooms also come equipped with live webcams, so their owners can check in on them from their desktop or mobile devices anytime during the day.
“Dogtopia evaluates all dogs and separates them into different playrooms based off of size, personality and play style,” Sherman says. “It seemed like a great fit to not only connect with the community of pet parents and dogs but other local businesses as well.”
Sherman says they’re aiming to open the new location on Southlake Boulevard by November. For more information on Dogtopia and the services they provide, go online at Dogtopia.com.
