SkateTown, a beloved family-owned and operated roller-skating center in Grapevine, will be closing by the end of the month.
The owners announced on Monday that they have sold the property at 2330 William D. Tate Ave. to pursue retirement. According to their website, owners Mike and Kathy Vouklizas had a dream of opening their own skating rink when they got married. In June 1997, they did just that.
Since its doors opened, SkateTown has been a memorable spot for birthday parties, school functions, corporate events and days filled with skating fun.
“We would like to thank everyone for a wonderful 24 years of business,” the couple shared on Facebook.
SkateTown’s doors will be closing on August 21. All regular skating times, prices, skate classes and birthday parties will remain the same until then.
