On June 21, the Southlake Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards banquet, honoring 11 local individuals and businesses for their service to the community.
“This is the night when we honor those in the Southlake community that have made positive changes in our Chamber and in the city and set an example for others to follow with their initiative, creativity and energy,” says Mark Guilbert, Southlake Chamber President and CEO.
This year’s theme was “Chamber Rock Stars,” and the night did not disappoint. The coveted Citizen of the Year Award went to Lynda Warner, who is well-known for her tireless fundraising efforts and volunteer work with organizations like the Rotary Club of Southlake, Kids Matter International and GRACE. The longtime community supporter will also be joining the Southlake Chamber’s Board of Directors this year.
The Legacy Award was presented to the Grubbs Family of Dealerships for their many years of active engagement and support for the Chamber. Chamber ambassador Funmi Akintade was given the President’s Award and Ambassador of the Year, while former Southlake mayor, John Huffman, was recognized with the Chairman’s Award. Lisa Harrington was honored with Director of the Year, Volunteer of the Year went to Victoria Meagher and Youth of the Year went to Carroll High School senior and Green Jacket member Max Keating.
The awards were rounded out with Dragons Care taking home the Civic Group of the Year. The Westin Southlake won Corporate Business of the Year, and Ronkot Designs LLC was honored as the Small Business of the Year
Congratulations to all of this year’s winners!
