Kelli Ann Myatt, owner of The Healthy Hippie Cafe, was recently selected as one of eight finalists for the High Five Grant For Moms competition. The semi-annual international competition is co-hosted by The Mama Ladder and Belly Bandit and aspires to provide economic empowerment for promising mom-owned businesses, according to the grant’s website. In order to be considered, moms who own their own business had to submit the “why” behind their business.
She is up against women in an array of industries spanning everywhere from Ontario, Canada to Treynor, Iowa. There are a few other Texan business owners in the running as well, one from Houston and the other from San Antonio.
Kelli started her business to show her community the power in eating organic, vegan means. By offering different dishes, a detox program and catering, Kelli has been able to show just how flavorful healthy food can be.
To support Kelli in this competition, locals can vote on the grant’s website from July 9 to 16. All finalists will receive something, but the winner, who will be announced on July 18, will walk away with the grand prize of $5,000.
