The Carroll Dragons are currently in first place in the latest UIL Lone Star Cup standings for Class 6A.
The Lone Star Cup is awarded annually to six high schools, one in each of the six UIL classifications (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A), and honors the best athletic and academic programs in the state. The winning schools in each classification will receive the UIL Lone Star Cup trophy and a $1,000 scholarship, also presented by the UIL.
The Dragons have won three consecutive Lone Star Cups in 5A. Carroll moved to the newly-formed 6A this year.
Carroll has 78 points, which is 11 points ahead of second-place Katy Cinco Ranch. The Woodlands is third with 64 points and Austin Westlake is fourth with 63 points.
The final standings will be released June 20. The final update includes points for One Act Play, softball and baseball.
