Say goodbye to the old bar as Copeland's prepares for a new look.
Copeland's Southlake Prepares to Close for Renovation of Dining Room and Lounge
With the recent opening of the well-received TruFire Kitchen & Bar and this year’s highly anticipated fourth-quarter opening of Del Frisco’s Grille, Southlake continues to generate more upscale options for area diners. As various new restaurants continue to open their doors, the more established Southlake restaurants are taking notice. Well-known to locals and visitors for years, Copeland's of New Orleans at the Hilton Dallas/Southlake Town Square is about to take on a new look of its own.
Copeland's, an established favorite since its founding in 1983, opened its Southlake doors to immediate success in 2007. However, in order to keep up with the ever-evolving local dining and entertainment landscape, Hilton Dallas/Southlake Town Square General Manager Mike Hutchison believes it’s time for a change. "Copeland's is known near and far for its New Orleans-style cuisine, and the new decor will make the dining experience more authentic," he says. "We'll be able to accommodate more guests in both the dining room and bar area, which will be a great place to hang out after Dragon football games or a night out."
Beginning August 5, Hutchison and company will be hard at work renovating the dining room and lounge area, with an anticipated re-opening in early September. Structurally, a wall that separates the dining and lounge areas will be removed to provide a more open, contemporary concept. In all, the makeover will completely transform the restaurant's dining and bar areas with new carpet, tables, chairs, light fixtures and artwork, including a French Quarter mural. Additionally, the bar will be expanded to a full circle to provide more seating. The design will also feature new semi-private dining areas, banquet seating and an expanded dining lounge.
Although the restaurant will take on a completely new look in the coming weeks, regulars should note that Copeland's menu of classic Creole fare will remain — save for a few new welcome additions to both the dining room and bar menus. To kick-off the renovation, a Bourbon Street Party is set for August 3 and will feature a barbecue shrimp boil and live jazz by Greg Luce.
