Whether you are rocking red, green or both this weekend, there’s still plenty to do! Here are just a few of the hot family-friendly weekend activities happening over the next few days.
Westlake Community Tree Lighting
Jump into the weekend and the Christmas countdown early by heading out to Westlake’s annual tree lighting on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Activities include a cake walk, carriage rides, musical performances, a live reindeer petting zoo and much more. Santa will be there at Solana Plaza to round out the night and celebrate as the Christmas tree lights up the sky.
Southlake Carroll vs. Euless Trinity Trojans
Carroll might not be playing at Dragon Stadium, but they might feel at home when playing the Euless Trinity Trojans at UNT’s Apogee Stadium This Friday. They will home to clinch another postseason win on the Mean Green field. Kick off is at 7 p.m., so be sure to get out there to cheer them onto another victory.
Snacks With Santa
Spend some quality time with Saint Nick at Snacks With Santa this Saturday. Come out to the Marq at 1 p.m. to enjoy a delicious bite and grab a photo of your kids with Santa. Children under two can enjoy the event for free, so it’s a great place to introduce your little one to the big guy. Breakfast With Santa is already sold out, so don’t miss your chance to participate by reserving your tickets.
Elves On the Run 5K
Grab your costumes and prance over to the third annual Elves on the Run 5K and kids run. Athletes of all ages and skill levels will race toward the finish line where food trucks, vendors and Santa await. Even your pup can come out and be a part of the fun, as long as he is on a leash. This family-friendly morning activity is a great way to get active after stuffing yourself on Thanksgiving while still embracing the holiday season.
Roanoke’s Old-Fashioned Christmas
For a Christmas parade close to home, head out to Roanoke’s Old-Fashioned Christmas on Saturday. Starting at 5 p.m., locals will be gearing up to enjoy the area’s tree lighting, seasonal carolers, carriage rides, and parade down Oak Street. Don’t forget to bring your warmest coats; activities will commence both in and outside.
