Proceeds from the GRACE Gala and the generous support from businesses and individuals in the community allow GRACE to provide families with:
1) Emergency Assistance to families in crisis
2) Healthcare and preventative education through the Community Clinic
3) Groceries and fresh produce to families vulnerable to food insecurity through the Food Pantry
4) Transitional Housing to displaced families or from those fleeing domestic abuse
5) Commodities and holistic support to isolated and immobile seniors through Friends & Family
6) Work-appropriate attire and Back-to-School clothing for families throughout the year through the Clothing Room
7) Children's Programs that provide meals and holiday gifts to at-risk youth
Emergency Assistance
GRACE provides emergency assistance an average of 5,100 individuals and families who are faced with financial challenges owing to low-income or recent emergency. Aid is given on an as-needed basis. This program provides food, clothing, toiletries, household goods, furniture, financial assistance, and information/referrals to those in need.
Community Clinic
The Community Clinic provides a holistic approach to health care for families who do not have access to traditional medical care. The operation is supervised by staff and volunteer healthcare professionals. The clinic provides routine office visits, health screenings, medications, specialist referrals, diagnostic testing and lab services, dietary consultations, nutrition courses and preventative education for complete family health.
Food Pantry
The Food Pantry provides perishable and nonperishable food to individuals and families in need. The strategic storefront design lends clients an element of dignity in the process of providing food that meets the cultural and dietary need of each unique family. In addition to the donated food, an average of 1,500 pounds of fresh, organic produce is dispenses through the GRACE Community Gardens.
Transitional Housing
The Transitional Housing Program allows individuals and families the stability and comfort of their own apartment for up to two years while they work toward independence. Housing clients participate in intensive Case Management while pursing educational, career, financial, and personal development goals for the duration of the program.
Seasonal Programs
In addition to GRACE's year-round programs, clients, volunteers, and donors can participate in the following seasonal opportunities
Feed Our Kids calls upon local churches and businesses to provide meals to children most at-risk for food insecurity during the summer months while school is not in session.
Back to School Supply Drive provides new backpacks and school supplies to GRACE clients at the beginning of each new school year.
Holiday Food Distribution assures that all area households are able to serve Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to their families. Food baskets include everything needed to prepare a home-cooked holiday meal!
Christmas Cottage allows parents to choose gifts for their children at Christmas time. Clients are given vouchers to shop in a store-like setting filled with new unwrapped toys.
Friends & Family
Friends & Family is a network of faith groups, community partners, civic groups, service organizations and individual volunteers that work together to improve the quality of life for displaced and immobile seniors in our community.
