The Christmas Capital of Texas is back in full swing this December.
Last week, the city of Grapevine released its full calendar of holiday events going on in December. The season kicks off with the Carol of the Lights, where the city turns on the lights and celebrates the season with fireworks and music at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 22, according to a media release.
The Gaylord Texan also launched its own holiday season on Nov. 12 with Lone Star Christmas. While ICE! Unfortunately isn’t happening this year, there are several other fun holiday events going on inside the resort, including ice skating and snow tubing, outdoor Christmas light displays and “Mission: Save Christmas,” an interactive event where you get to help Buddy the Elf save the holidays!
The Great Wolf Lodge is also hosting its own indoor winter wonderland from Nov. 19 to Jan. 3 with Snowland, where guests can enjoy indoor snow showers and snow bingo. Grapevine’s Christmas Village will also be open at the Cotton Belt Railroad from Nov. 26 to Dec. 3, and participants can take all the pictures they want and bring any of the crafts they make home with them. Santa Claus will also be hosting his own Christmas storytimes on Main Street from Dec. 4-24, and Nash Farm will be baking cookies and making ornaments until Dec. 31.
The Historic Palace Theatre will be playing classic Christmas movies all season long, including “Home Alone,” “It’s A Wonderful Life,” “A Christmas Carol,” “A Christmas Story” and many more. Lancaster Theatre will be hosting its own crafting events while playing cartoons such as “Frosty The Snowman” and “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.” That doesn’t include other exciting upcoming events such as Willhoite’s toy drive on Dec. 1, the Parade of Lights on Dec. 2 or the North Pole Express, which runs until Dec. 23.
